Nothing surprises us here, but everything eludes us, as if aspirated by that truth held in shadow, so intrinsic that it is only revealed in the abstraction of the unspoken. We might see here an attempt to legitimate fiction as a means of attesting to history, but also a manifestation of the ascendance of the map over the territory.
