In the context of NDN Time, artist Tyson Houseman will be in conversation with Alexandra Nordstrom, an independent curator, researcher and PhD candidate in Art History at Concordia University. The discussion will take place in the gallery, a great opportunity to know more about Tyson Houseman’s work in a casual setting!

Tyson Houseman is a nêhiyaw video artist, performer and filmmaker from Paul First Nation. He has exhibited at several galleries, museums, and film festivals, including ICA Boston, e-flux Screening Room (New York), Musée d’art de Joliette, and The Shed NYC, where he was a recipient of the 2025 Open Call commission. He has been awarded fellowships by Forge Project, COUSIN Collective, and MacDowell. Houseman holds an MFA in Fine Arts from the School of Visual Arts in NYC.
Alexandra Nordstrom is a Montréal-based cultural worker, curator, and researcher. Her work explores Indigenous knowledge systems, with a focus on Cree worldviews, land-based learning, and creative practice. Nordstrom holds an MA in Art History from Concordia University and is currently a PhD candidate in Art History at Concordia. She is co-curator of the Poundmaker Museum and Gallery and co-director of Sarasa Performance Laboratory (formerly Miyawata Culture Inc.). Her writing has appeared in Room, C Magazine, Canadian Art, the exhibition catalogue for the Biennale d’art contemporain autochtone (BACA) – 6th edition, and RACAR: Revue d’art canadienne / Canadian Art Review. Raised in Treaty 6 territory in Saskatchewan, Alexandra is a member of the Poundmaker Cree Nation.
