In the context of Maryse Goudreau’s exhibition Mise au monde, Dazibao presents Pour la suite du monde, a film produced by the NFB in 1962, directed Michel Brault, Michel Carrière and Pierre Perrault.

A masterwork within the history of Canadian filmmaking, Pour la suite du monde is heralded for its revolutionary style and its groundbreaking contribution to the cinéma direct movement. Documenting the last capture of a beluga whale in Québec and thus revealing the history of local knowledge inherent to this pursuit, Pour la suite du monde served as the point of departure for Goudreau’s new film, Mise au monde (2017), through which the artist strives to create of a social archive of the beluga.

Pour la suite du monde will be presented in French with English subtitles, and will be preceded by an introduction by Maryse Goudreau.
