Particules d’un récepteur cueilleur is a durational performance confounding work with spectacle. Taking into consideration the expanded imagery produced by exhibitions and performances, as well as the contexts and economies which influence their circulation, Mathieu Lacroix methodically sifts through his enormous collection of invitations and programs from various cultural events over several years. Done for the camera, live audience, and online streaming, his task/action multiplies circulation while dutifully fulfilling his role as artist.

Mathieu Lacroix's work foregrounds the raw aesthetics of objects against the backdrop of society’s consumerism. He produces unusual sites loaded with references ranging from the domestic universe to the commercial domain. Lacroix's interventions question the complex and twisted relationships between the individual, their environment and their identity. He subverts the theatrics of the commonplace through the construction of poetic irrealities. Mathieu Lacroix lives and works in Montréal, where he is an active member of the collective Pique-nique (2003-).
