Jeune tête d'affiche

Deadline: April 15, 2025

Each year, Dazibao presents an image-based artwork by an artist who will be completing graduate studies in visual art during the year. Applicants are asked to submit an image prioritizing artistic experimentation and research, and reflection related to current social issues as per Dazibao's mandate. The selected artist will have their image featured in Dazibao’s annual programming poster, distributed locally, nationally and internationally. The work will also be featured on Dazibao’s website, thus contributing to its yearly visual identity. In addition to considerable exposure, the artist will receive $ 575. This opportunity is meant to support an emerging artist whose image-based work is thought-provoking and engages with contemporary culture.

Conditions

→ Artists must be completing their graduate degree or doctorate either in the spring or fall of 2025.

→ Canadian and international students studying within Canada and Canadian students abroad are eligible to apply.

→ Artists are encouraged to consider the poster as a format and medium for their submission.

→ Only proposals submitted via the online form will be considered.

→ Due to a high volume of submissions, only the selected artist will be contacted. We thank you for the time and care invested in your proposal.

Submission Requirements

→ Artist statement (250 words)

→ Biography (250 words)

→ Visual material:
