The project brings together two video works, Blue Light Blue and Love.  

A visual response to the most used hashtag on Instagram, Love contemplates how the meaning of the word love mutates and expands through its algorithmic use. Compiling images from Instagram hashtagged love with images produced by the artist, this new work gathers together the impressive series of animations produced over the course of the artist’s Dazibao Instagram residency in summer of 2021.   
Blue Light Blue considers the blue light emitted from the screens of our electronic devices to look at how such technology intrudes upon the private space of sleep. Throughout the film, notions of day and night are confused and blue light is cast as the antagonist character in a pseudo horror film where screens masquerade as mirrors or windows, surveilling us as we gaze into their simulated depths.
