Four individuals who share only their friendship with Omar Elhamy are gathered together to create a play. Writing and staging various aspects of their personal stories, the protagonists transmit and translate their experiences of displacement while negotiating their cultural and linguistic differences. Five seasons behind the sun documents both the creative process and the final play for the theater.
