— Contract for pedagogical kit development

Dazibao seeks a candidate to develop pedagogical materials for a digital kit and video art series destined for children and their teachers. The material includes questions and exercises, accompanied by explanations, that respond to Dazibao’s selection of works, and would be packaged into an interactive digital tool. The materials will be subject to approval by Dazibao.

The organization

Dazibao is a contemporary art center and non-profit organization dedicated to the dissemination and mediation of contemporary image practices, privileging artistic experimentation, enquiry, and reflection. By questioning the discourses, uses, and modes of dissemination of images, Dazibao explores artistic, historical, and social issues, which address multiple communities.

The reflections developed by Dazibao translate into the presentation of exhibitions, screening programs, public works, publications, and special events. Dazibao collaborates with numerous artists, curators, academics, critics, and researchers and has several recurring partnerships with related or complementary organizations.

Dazibao promotes equity, inclusivity, equality, diversity, and cultural hybridization so that art can assert itself as a field of knowledge capable of facilitating a better understanding of the world around us. Offered free of charge, the activities organized by the center are open to all.

Requirements

— Develop age-appropriate pedagogical materials for children ages 5-16 for a program of video artworks

— Strong understanding of contemporary image-based and media-art based practices 

— Have experience in art education or outreach 

— Experience working with or developing content for children

— Strong writing and communication skills in French or English 

— Creative thinking and adaptability

— Ability to work independently

Conditions

— Contractual position

— 750$ for approximately 30 hours of work

— Draft deadline: July 8, 2024

— Final material deadline: August 13, 2024
