Call for exhibition projects

Deadline: October 15, 2025

In the context of Dazibao’s open call for exhibition projects, artists and curators are invited to propose projects for either the exhibition space or the screening room.

Founded on contemporary image practices, generally referring to photography, video, and film, Dazibao’s programming favors artistic approaches that reflect upon the effect and role of contemporary images in today’s society, and on their constant transformations. Projects are evaluated based on artistic rigor and their potential contribution to today’s social discourses.

Only projects directly related to the organization's mandate will be considered. For more information on Dazibao's mandate and past activities, please visit dazibao.art.

Dazibao’s programming is developed with the support of an advisory committee and is composed of both projects submitted to our annual call for proposals and projects developed by the center.

Submission requirements

· Artist statement (250 words)
· Project description (500 words)
· Artist CV (maximum 3 pages)

· Visual material of past work and/or the proposed project, including up to 15 images and/or 5 minutes of video.

  • Images: JPEG or PNG format, maximum size of 1 MB each. Please number and name the files indicating the artist's name and the year of the work.

  • Video: Only web links will be accepted (Vimeo, YouTube, Google Drive, website, etc.). The artist is responsible for ensuring that the links are functional and that any passwords are valid. Do not use links that will expire.

· A descriptive list of visual material (in PDF format). For each of the works presented, please indicate: title, date, medium(s), dimensions, duration, presentation context, etc. Password-protected video links must also be included.

Only proposals submitted via the online form will be considered. Results are communicated within six months. We recognize that the preparation of a proposal requires a considerable amount of work, and we are grateful to all the artists who share their research with us.

Dazibao invites submissions from emerging, mid-career, and established artists. Dazibao encourages diversity and inclusivity, and invites submissions from artists self-identifying as members of a minority. Dazibao’s artist fees are based on CARFAC recommendations.
