Kim Kielhofner

Recipient of the PRIM-Dazibao production-dissemination residency

Dazibao and PRIM are pleased to announce that Kim Kielhofner is the recipient of the 2022-2023 production-dissemination residency. PRIM will host Kim Kielhofner over the coming year, where she will produce a new work that will subsequently be presented at Dazibao.

Kim Kielhofner works in video, drawing, and collage. She is interested in how we understand narratives and how we place ourselves into them. Her process is based on interests in layered narrative, cinema, and literature through which she has developed an archive of images and ideas. Her work has been presented at festivals and in exhibitions in Québec and internationally, including at Sporobole, VOX, FIFA Expérimental, Kassel Dokfest, WRO Biennale, and Oberhausen International Short Film Festival. She has participated in residencies including KulturKontakt (Vienna), DAIMON (Gatineau), Aberystwyth Arts Centre (UK), The Red Mansion Foundation (Beijing), and International Studio and Curatorial Program (Brooklyn).

Dazibao thanks the artist and PRIM for their generous collaboration as well as its advisory committee for their support.
