— Internship for students receiving credits or funding

This internship is intended for undergraduate or master's students in visual arts, art history, or other related disciplines who are looking for a first work experience.

This internship is intended to provide a professional and stimulating work environment where the candidate can become familiar with the arts milieu, develop skills specific to the cultural sector, and expand their network of contacts.

Conditions

Internships are normally one full day per week (7 hours). Please check with your university program or funding program to find out what requirements you need to meet in order to obtain an internship.

The intern will be encouraged to participate in occasional events.

The internship is unpaid. Dazibao accepts only applicants whose internship is eligible for university credit or who are receiving funding (scholarship, grant, award).

The organization

Dazibao is a contemporary art center and non-profit organization dedicated to the dissemination and mediation of contemporary image practices, privileging artistic experimentation, enquiry, and reflection. By questioning the discourses, uses, and modes of dissemination of images, Dazibao explores artistic, historical, and social issues, which address multiple communities.

The reflections developed by Dazibao translate into the presentation of exhibitions, screening programs, public works, publications, and special events. Dazibao collaborates with numerous artists, curators, academics, critics, and researchers and has several recurring partnerships with related or complementary organizations.

Dazibao promotes equity, inclusivity, equality, diversity, and cultural hybridization so that art can assert itself as a field of knowledge capable of facilitating a better understanding of the world around us. Offered free of charge, the activities organized by the center are open to all.

Tasks

— Contribute in a general way to the daily tasks within the organization, respecting the work methods in place;

— Greet the public and answer questions;

— Conduct research as requested by management in relation to the development and execution of exhibition, publication, and mediation projects;

— Depending on their skills, the candidate will participate in other daily tasks related to the center's activities.
