Call for proposals ― Dazibao satellite

Deadline: October 15, 2018

Dazibao is presently seeking proposals from artists to occupy two billboards in the city of Montreal.

The billboards are located on the façades of Café Cherrier (3635, rue Saint-Denis) and Bonsecours Market (350 rue St-Paul Est) and measure respectively 10 x 12 feet and 10 x 15 feet.

Wanted:

Submissions that take into consideration the billboard as a medium and that establish a relationship between the two billboards, while taking into consideration their geographic or cultural contexts.

Works that engage present-day socio-political issues and that consider the impact of images in public spaces.

We encourage artists to develop possible participatory components to the works: proposals may include multi-media elements, such as downloadable audio walks between the two locations, interviews, or any other form of complimentary event or performance.

Proposals must include:

― 2 to 10 images jpeg/jpg format, if possible indicating which images you propose using for the billboards (2 MB/image maximum).

― Project description: max 500 words

― CV, 3 pages maximum, pdf format

Only proposals submitted via the online form will be considered.

Results will be communicated by January 1st, 2019.
