Call for exhibition projects

Deadline: October 15

Dazibao’s programming is comprised of a combination of submissions received as part of the call for proposals and of initiatives by the center. Artists and curators with image-based practices are invited to submit a proposal for projects that address issues pertaining to image-based practices, and are encouraged to consult our mandate, as well as our archives to know more about Dazibao’s programming. Proposals may be submitted for either the exhibition space or the screening room.

Dazibao seeks to present works that experiment with, and reflect upon images in relation to contemporary contexts. Submissions are evaluated on artistic rigour and their consideration and contribution to current political and social discourses.

Only proposals submitted via the online form will be considered. Results are communicated within six months.

Submission requirements:

— Artist statement (500 words)

― Project description (700 words)

― Technical requirements

― Visual support: up to 20 JPEG images, no larger than 2 MB and/or up to 10 minutes of video.

― List of images and instructions for viewing videos (pdf format)

An advisory programming committee contributes to the development of Dazibao’s programming.

Dazibao invites submissions from emerging, mid-career, and established artists. Dazibao encourages diversity and inclusivity, and invites submissions from artists self-identifying as members of a minority.

Dazibao’s artist fees are based on CARFAC standards.
